About VPA India:-
VPA India is a professional consulting organisation based in Vadodara, Gujarat, working in carbon markets, decarbonisation, ESG, sustainability, carbon credits, GHG accounting, climate advisory and carbon-credit commercialisation support for Indian and international clients.
VPA India is building a carbon-credit project pipeline supported by investment and revenue-sharing arrangements, for which it identifies and engages investors, financiers and off-takers/buyers — primarily in international markets. This remote role supports that origination, financing and commercialisation activity worldwide.
Role Purpose:-
We are looking for an Executive Consultant to support VPA India's carbon-credit project origination, financing and commercialisation function. The role focuses on identifying and engaging investors, financiers and off-takers/buyers — with a primary focus on international markets such as the US, UK, Europe and other regions — for VPA India's carbon-credit project pipeline, preparing carbon-project financial analysis, and developing investment and off-take proposals.
The candidate will work directly with the CEO on VPA India's carbon-credit investment and revenue-sharing pipeline, covering investor and off-taker research, financial modelling, investment memoranda, pitch decks, project profiles, data-room preparation and commercial documentation.
This is a remote, location-flexible role open worldwide. It is suitable for finance and commerce students, fresh graduates, interns, freelancers, early-career professionals and experienced finance professionals interested in carbon markets, climate finance, project finance and carbon-credit commercialisation.
Key Responsibilities:-
1. Investor and Financier Search / Origination:
The candidate will identify and engage sources of capital — primarily international — for VPA India's carbon-credit project pipeline, including:
Identifying international climate and carbon funds, global impact and ESG investors, private equity and venture capital with climate mandates, family offices, development finance institutions (DFIs) and multilaterals (such as IFC, ADB and the World Bank Group), green banks, cross-border project-finance lenders and blended-finance vehicles.
Mapping each investor and financier by mandate, ticket size, investment stage, geography, sector focus and return expectations.
Building and maintaining a structured investor and financier database and pipeline (CRM).
Conducting outreach, initial engagement and relationship-building with prospective investors and financiers across international markets.
Preparing outreach materials, introductory notes and follow-up communication.
2. Off-taker and Buyer Search (Carbon-Credit Demand Side):
The candidate will identify and engage carbon-credit buyers and off-takers, primarily international, including:
Identifying international corporate buyers with net zero, SBTi or voluntary climate commitments, CORSIA and Article 6 compliance buyers, global trading houses, brokers and retail buyers.
Mapping buyer preferences by standard, project type, vintage, co-benefits and SDG alignment, quality label and price expectation.
Assessing buyer requirements for authorised units, corresponding adjustments and international transfer where relevant.
Supporting the structuring of spot, forward and floor-price off-take arrangements.
Maintaining a buyer and off-taker database and demand pipeline.
3. Carbon-Project Financial Analysis and Modelling:
The candidate will prepare and maintain carbon-project financial models, including:
Building project financial models covering capital expenditure, operating expenditure, carbon revenue (credit volume × price) and non-carbon revenue.
Forecasting carbon-credit issuance in coordination with the technical team's emission-reduction estimates.
Computing key financial metrics such as NPV, IRR, payback period, DSCR, break-even carbon price and abatement cost.
Running carbon-price, volume, timing and issuance scenarios with sensitivity analysis.
Modelling cost of issuance (validation, verification, registry fees, buffer contributions and monitoring) and revenue/benefit-sharing structures.
Preparing clear, well-documented and assumption-driven financial workbooks.
4. Investment and Commercial Documentation:
The candidate will prepare investor- and buyer-facing documentation, including:
Investment and information memoranda, teasers and pitch decks.
Project profiles, fact sheets and data rooms for investors, financiers and buyers.
Off-take proposals and indicative commercial term sheets.
Financial sections of proposals covering use of funds, expected returns, risk mitigation and exit considerations.
Bankability assessments and project risk registers (technical, regulatory, market and delivery risks) with mitigation measures.
5. Deal Support, Due Diligence and Transaction Readiness:
The candidate will support deal progression, including:
Coordinating and maintaining data rooms and responding to investor and buyer due-diligence queries.
Supporting Emission Reduction Purchase Agreement (ERPA), sale-and-purchase and forward-purchase documentation in coordination with legal advisors (support role only, not legal advice).
Maintaining basic counterparty and KYC awareness.
Tracking deals through the pipeline from origination to closing.
6. Climate-Finance and Carbon-Market Intelligence:
The candidate will track finance- and market-relevant developments, including:
Carbon-credit prices across compliance and voluntary markets.
Demand and supply trends, buyer sentiment and credit-quality expectations.
New funds, DFI windows and results-based and blended-finance opportunities.
Policy developments affecting demand and finance, including Article 6, CORSIA, CBAM, ICVCM Core Carbon Principles and corporate net zero and SBTi commitments.
7. Pipeline, CRM and Business-Development Support:
The candidate will support fundraising and origination operations, including:
Maintaining the investor, off-taker and deal CRM and pipeline.
Preparing periodic fundraising, origination and pipeline status reports for the CEO.
Supporting identification and preparation of investment-ready carbon-credit projects.
Providing finance and commercial inputs into project proposals and presentations.

Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Drive, email and internet research.
Ability to follow instructions, work systematically and manage confidential, commercially sensitive information.
