Net zero means cutting your emissions as deeply as the science requires, and then neutralising the small share that remains with lasting carbon removals. It is a long-term commitment, and customers, investors and lenders look for a credible plan behind the claim.
VPA India builds net zero roadmaps that start from a sound baseline, set targets you can defend, and show the actions, costs and timing needed to reach them.
Baseline: a complete Scope 1, 2 and 3 inventory.
Targets: near-term and long-term targets, validated by the SBTi if you choose.
Reduction plan: energy efficiency, renewable electricity, fuel switching, process change and supplier engagement, with timing and cost.
Residual emissions: a plan for carbon removals and for climate action beyond your value chain.
Disclosure: progress reported through CDP and your sustainability report.
Measure. Build or check your baseline.
Set. Agree targets and the level of ambition with your leadership.
Plan. Cost and sequence the reduction measures.
Track. Report progress each year and update the plan as technology, costs and your business change.
Carbon neutrality is a claim about a defined subject, such as a product, an event or an organisation, over a set period, usually reached by reducing emissions and offsetting the rest. ISO 14068-1, which builds on and replaces PAS 2060, sets out the requirements for such claims. Net zero is a longer-term goal centred on deep emission cuts. We help with both, and with keeping the two claims clearly apart.
Companies making a first net zero commitment, companies reviewing an existing commitment against current standards, and suppliers asked by their customers to show a credible plan.
